Whenever you’re in Hua Hin it’s highly recommended to visit Sailom for their fresh and succulent Thai food. Popular for its wide variety of original Thai recipes and authentic taste, you can relax and enjoy your food with their beachfront view.
Everything I have tried tastes next level delicious (aroy mak mak as the locals say!) The dishes are refined; savoury and seasoned to perfection. The attention to details and Thai traditional atmosphere is what attracts many foodies to Sailom.
Signature Fried Cheese Wonton
Flakey and light, these fried wontons stuffed with cheese is to die for. I could eat this over and over again. They make the perfect appetizer before settling in to the main course. Drizzle some of the sweet Thai chili sauce over it and viola. *chef’s kiss*
Tom Yum Soup
Thailand’s signature dish. Tom Yum, hot and sour soup that is served with shrimp and bolds a unique flavourful taste and aroma. Its main ingredients are made up of lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lime juice, and chili peppers. The one I had at Sailom tastes different than the ones I had elsewhere in the country and it’s so delicious, it’s truly hard to describe you’ll have to try it for yourself. I had the non-spicy version. Don’t forget to order rice on the side to enjoy this!
Spicy Shrimp Paste Sauce and Vegetables
An appetizer with true Thai taste. This one is for those who has an adventurous palette or are able to handle the pungency of shrimp paste. Personally, this dish brings back fond memories with my mother when we would dig into sliced green mangos with the purple style shrimp paste. This red one tastes a lot better and is a great concoction of spicy, savoury, and salty.
Som Tam (Papaya salad)
Thai papaya salad that is pounded and mixed in a pestle with lime juice, dried shrimp, and light fish sauce. Absolutely refreshing, delicious, and unique tasting.
Sun Dried Fried Squid
When you’re in a beachside town, you have to eat the seafood. The sun dried fried squid was a great dish as a gateway.
Seafood Pizza
For those who want some comfort food while enjoying the seafood of Hua Hin can opt to get the seafood pizza. Cheesy deliciousness.
Deep Fried Banana with Honey
One of my favourite dessert. Make sure to leave some room to try this! Deep fried Thai bananas served with ice cream, honey, and powdered sugar.
