During my 4 nights in Malacca, I had the opportunity to stay at one of the most comfortable and clean hostel ever.
I’d recommend anyone who is in Malacca to book your nights at Stay with me hostel.
Sleeping experience
Space pods is what this hostel is known for and they do it well.
If you’re not familiar, they are individual sleeping units equipped with lights, outlets, TV, safety box, and ventilation fans for a comfortable sleep. The sliding door that locks and is accessible with your own keycard allows you to keep your belongings safe while you’re away.
The linen and quality of mattress here was top notch. So clean and comfortable.
Deep cleaning every Monday
Every Monday they do a deep clean of everything.
I got to witness this myself where I saw the staff remove all the bedding and steam cleaned the insides of the pods.
One time I walked into the room while a staff had climbed up on the roof of the capsule to vacuum any dust that accumulated (photo below), while another took apart the A/C machine to do a cleaning of it too.
Amazing!!!
Staff are so friendly and nice
Joa (short for Joanne) was the first person I got to meet when I checked in. Her energy and kindness really made the hostel feel like a great place to be.
Extremely hardworking, she’s always around to make sure the guests are comfortable and having a good time.
If you need recommendations to local places to eat or things to do, she’s prepared with some great suggestions.
Hostel vibes
Admittedly since this hostel is out of the city center, so it isn’t a “party hostel.” It’s more for a place to sleep comfortably or lounge in. The guests who were staying there were are quiet, respectful, and some liked to stay inside their beds without much socializing.
